The Department of Interior and Local Government-Bacolod City (DILG-Bacolod), in coordination with the city government of Bacolod, will launch the “MamamayangAyawsaAnomalya, MamamayangAyawsaIligalnaDroga” (Masa Masid) program today at 1:00 p.m. at the BAYS Center.
The Masa Masid program aims to encourage communities to take a proactive stance in the government’s fight against corruption, illegal drugs, and criminality. “We believe that peace and order is a shared responsibility of all Filipinos. Through the Masa Masid program, citizens and other concerned sectors can help the government in its campaign to rid the country of crime and illegal drugs,” DILG-Bacolod Director, Engr. Carmelo Orbista said. According to a press statement from the mayor, “The city government of Bacolod throws its full support to the successful implementation of the DILG’s Masa Masid in Bacolod City.” It continued, “My administration is one with President Rodrigo Duterte.” Masa Masid is composed of faith-based organizations, civil society organizations (CSOs), non-government organizations (NGOs), people’s organizations, and CSO representative from the Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC) of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC). Expected to lead the launch are Leonardia; Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran; DILG Regional Director, Atty.
