Diwali Festival
29 October 2016 SMX Convention Center This month of October gives us several reasons to celebrate. We have the vibrant Masskara, and of course the one that we are celebrating today, the bright and colorful Diwali Festival. For years, we have been gathering to join our Indian brothers in observing their biggest and most important holiday of the year, to celebrate the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. But, this festival of lights for Bacolodnon means a celebration of the strong bond we Filipinos share with you, our Indian friends who visited this city, or even opted to build a family and start a life in Bacolod. And with such decision of choosing Bacolod among the cities in the world, I sincerely thank you. Today is a reminder that we are capable of co- existing with each other, that we are capable of respecting our cultures, that we are capable of doing business together, and most importantly, we are capable of giving each other the necessary support. It is my strong desire that we shall be able to maintain this kind of relationship; moreso, develop such into stronger mutual alliance. As we all pray for good welfare, prosperity, and wealth especially during this festival, the peace and progress of our city are also in my prayers so that each who visits and lives here, regardless of one’s nationality, shall be able to live life at its best. I wish that we shall all enjoy during this festival and in each day of our lives. To everyone, and most importantly to our Hindu brothers, thank you very much and have a pleasant evening.

Negros Occidental High School Alumni Association Inc. Bowling Fest
Goldenfields, Bacolod As I stand here in front of you today, I can see several familiar faces. Nevertheless, seeing faces of people I have met and became a part of me since high school, is always refreshing. For this reason, I cannot say no to any invitation coming from our Alma Mater, the NOHS, or something related thereto like our Alumni Association. I must say that I always look forward for any event that could bring us all together and be reminded of the bond we started sharing during our younger days. This is actually the nth time that I have come to witness an event organized by the NOHSAAI. This means to show that undeniably, we are aging. However, this does not mean that we cannot anymore enjoy what a younger body could offer as being youth is just a state of mind. So today, I strongly encourage everyone to put aside all your concerns with work and enjoy the game as we open this year’s bowlfest! May this event start a new alliance, build a stronger solidarity, and may we all end this event triumphantly in any way as we practice the spirit of sportsmanship. I wish everyone good luck and good cheer! 28 October 2016
DTI Bacolod City Hall Grounds It has been said that if beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, value is in the mind of the consumers. This means that each consumer, regardless of life’s status, always checks on the product’s quality which should commensurate to the value of their money. This is where the protection afforded by the law comes into play. Our government has agencies in the like of the Department of Trade and Industry to address issues like this and all others which preserve the rights, as well as the responsibilities, of the consumer. The observation and celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month delights me as I am a consumer myself. This is one perfect opportunity for all of us to be reminded and be aware of our rights and responsibilities. Through this, we may be able to know what we should do in cases we have to complain any retailer for misrepresentation, fraud, or any form of bad faith. At the same time, we shall be reminded of our accountabilities that go with all of our rights as consumers. Another reason why I am pleased with this celebration, is because this might aid the Vice Mayor’s Office and the Sanggunian in its entirety to unfold circumstances that might lead to necessary legislation that will give each consumer further protection. To our vendors and the rest of Bacolodnons, may we all be enlightened at the end of the activities. To the Department of Trade and Industry and to all who are helping to organize this celebration, I strongly commend you for the hard work. May we all serve our set goals for this event. The Vice Mayor’s Office will always be willing to be your partner in protecting our consumers. Good afternoon to all. Seventh Day Adventist 25 October 2016 It is pleasurable to witness conventions with the sole purpose of gathering people to bring honor to the name of our Almighty Father. As always, it is essential for a church to call out for members to unite and to get involved with the activities of the ministry. This benefits the members, the church, and even the community in its entirety. Through this, the members will be reminded of their covenant with God to bring service, praises, and glory unto Him for the blessings received and yet to be received. In return, the church shall be able to achieve the very reason why it was established. And the community prayed for by the entire church, without any doubt, shall receive bountiful harvests. Moreover, this is a good opportunity for the church and the members to pray for peace and prosperity as one. And as you gather here today, may you be from the farthest end of our province, or from within the City of Bacolod, I take pride being here to welcome each of the delegates in behalf of our beloved mayor, Bing Leonardia. May this event strengthen the bind this church has, as we all joyfully await for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. To all, good afternoon. Piston-UNDOC Negros

Schools Category October 22, 2016 Masskara means a lot of things for Bacolodnons. For some, it is a time to celebrate the colorful smiles, a time to take pride in showcasing what Bacolod City could offer the world, but most importantly, it is a time to remind people of the Bacolodnons' strength during the trying times and of how Bacolod survive and flourished into what it is now. May we all end this day with huge smiles! Bacolod City Cooperative Development Council Campuestohan Highland Resort, Talisay 15 October 2016 I feel elated to learn that you take time to organize a conference like this, not merely for pleasantries, but with the aim to strengthen and build linkages, consultation, and coordination to check the movement of cooperatives in Bacolod City. It has been said that where there is unity, there is always victory. This is the very principle of cooperatives. Surely, if this is always maintained, each coop shall exceed the limits, and shall sustain excellence. As each cooperative consists of members with its own set of aims, nevertheless, it is my hope that today, you shall be able to mentor each other so progress shall not be felt by only one coop, but everyone in attendance today. I am with you in prayers that this day shall end with objectives met, with new ideas to be formulated, and with fruitful conclusions. To everyone, receive my warmest greetings of good day. ssb Vendor’s Day BAYS Center 14 October 2016 Maayong hapon! The market of one city is a manifestation of its progress. And I am very happy that with your presence, our markets has been very lively and vibrant. As we unite to celebrate the colorful MassKara festival, let us be reminded that it is always worthy to pause for a while and appreciate the blessings of life. And today, we are all here gathered not to go on with your daily routine but to build relationships and maintain camaraderie. May we all end this day with huge and genuine smiles in our faces just like our masks. I wish you nothing but all enjoyment as today is your day. Induction of Officers Lolita Heights Homeowners Association 09 October 2016 It is inherent that people come together to collectively pursue their common interest. It is one of the human natures. Through this, people threading a common pace shall be one and protected. It is a bliss to know that homeowners decided to unite and choose their leaders so as your objectives are protected and are within reach. After taking your oath today, you are to embark your duty. Such, allow me to leave a few reminders to all of you. First, you are to lead for the cause of your association, and definitely not for your own gain. Also, this is a privilege. So while you are seated in your position, do things you will never regret of not doing. Next, in every decision you make, ask if it is for the common good. And lastly, enjoy the feeling that you are serving. Congratulations, good luck, and God bless us all. Bacolod Executive Advisory Councils Peace and Order Council Annex Hall, Bacolod City Government Center 07 October 2016 It is encouraging to know that the administration I am with, has been doing all crucial measures to bring essential services beyond the basics. This encourages my spirit to do more than what is expected of me with regard to the genuine public service and the required leadership. With the creation of these nine Bacolod Executive Advisory Councils and the Bacolod Executive Consultative Group, it assures every Bacolodnon that your government has the liberality of accepting recommendation on how to further the progress of our dear city. Rest assured that this program has my one hundred percent support. As early as this, I would like to commend the people involve and those who would be, and most especially our chief executive, Mayor Bing Leonardia. Congratulations for this successful launching, and all the best of luck. May the good objectives be reached in no time. Thank you and good afternoon to all. |
