1st Special Basic Citizen Military Training Closing Ceremony Pana-ad Park, Mansilingan 24 September 2016 It is every citizen’s duty to love his country. This love includes loyalty, patriotism, and willingness to do what is ought to be done to protect its freedom, security, and peace. This duty is more so on your shoulders, gentlemen. However, it is my hope that each of you does not see this as a burden, but an opportunity to be designated by this government to protect this nation, and even to die for her. I know that your decision of going through this training shall put you on call at any time to render service. And you know that your own life will always be at stake from then on. I know that your family will be constantly worried of your safety and with your call of duty. I know that the road ahead will never be easy. This is more of a sacrifice than a privilege. This is your contribution to the nation we are trying to build. But what is more noble and heroic than being tasked of protecting the freedom, security, and most importantly, the lives of your fellow Filipino? There’s none I can think of. Today marks a significant juncture in your lives as you completed the basic training. It means you are on your way to heroism, and not everyone is given such chance. Early as this, I want you to realize that your family and this country is extremely proud of you. I may not directly join you and stand among your ranks, but I assure you that we are one in serving our beloved Philippines. This nation is very blessed with beauty and natural wealth. Others would even want to have a share of it. However, this nation is solely for Filipinos and for those who are willing to respect her patrimony. Our Philippines is only one. To all, congratulations, good luck, and let us start serving the people. I salute you.

10 September 2016 To everyone who is here, good morning. It is my privilege to witness the oath taking of the School Governing Councils, General PTA Officers, Mother's Club Officers, and all other officers of different clubs of this school. It is such an honor to be with you as you take your oath to perform all duties of your office. I believe that as you decided to take the responsibilities in your hands, you have decided to perform each to the best of your abilities. To the School Governing Councils and the Club officers, all the planning for programs and students’ welfare are now on your shoulders. Allow me to remind you to always ask yourselves of how each program shall help your fellow students. To the General P.T.A. and Mother’s Club Officers, it put a smile in my heart to realize the active collaboration of parents and teachers of this school. I am happy because it assures me that there will always be parents who will support the school projects and activities. We are all aware that there lies a big difference among students who are actively supported by parents with regard to their studies and those who are not. Having you all here secures me that the students of this school will surely have a bright future because they have their parents on their side in each of their endeavor. If I will be asked of my secret in leadership, I only have one thing in mind. And that is to take each and every chance I have to bring service to every person in need of it. As long as the public needs me, your Vice Mayor will always be around. I am praying that you will always be guided in leading your organizations. And to all, accept my warmest congratulations. Taculing Campus Medical Mission and Outreach Program 10 September 2016 x———————————————————x In life, there are those commissioned by fate to extend help to others. However, this does not mean that those who have less, have no right at all to offer their helping hands. This is what we are proving today. I am very happy that you are able to organize this Medical Mission and Feeding Progam as part of your week long celebration. I believe that you make people happy through your gratuity, but most of all, you are doing yourselves some favors. Happiness is doubled to those who give cheerfully. For the longest time that this institution has been helping a lot of lives, from the students who are currently studying in this school, to the alumni who take pride of what this school had made them, to the parents who are now enjoying the benefits of having successful graduates of this institution, up to the beneficiaries of those graduates who never forget to share their blessings to people outside of their family, excellence has been sustained. Verily, a good number of lives has been changed through the excellence and quality of education this institution had offered. The challenge now is how to keep the excellence to produce more successful students and eventually change their lives. To our teaachers, administrators, and all others who are part of this school, I have my faith in you. I trust the fact that each of you dreams and works to prepare every student you welcomed in this institution. And this makes me grateful to each of you everyday. It is my desire that someday, no Bacolodnon shall not be able to pursue his dream and finish his studies, that no life of Bacolodnon shall be left unchanged. To all who are part of this institution, I leave to you the challenge to exceed the present state of ecellence you offer. Rest assured that I am with you in this cause, and that my office is always open. Hand in hand, let us give our students and the rest of the Bacolodnons the best, and may you allow me in joining you, in changing lives. Thank you so much and a blessed morning to everyone. |
